The Demon Gun, A fully functional black powder hand cannon.

This is something I made a couple years ago. At the time I had no idea that this was going to be the first of its kind (to my knowledge at least) creation.

This was built in accordance with my take on steampunk, which is to never make anything fake that you could make for real.

The barrel is a hollow valve control shaft that I picked up at a scrapyard in alaska. The rest was scratch built with no machining tools other than a drill press.

The weapon is a single shot smooth bore cartridge firearm. The bullets are flat toped, hollow based slugs, very similar in design to common shotgun slugs but much larger. You can see four of the cartridges in holders on the side of the gun.

The gun weighs 26 pounds and is hence more of a rampart cannon than a true handheld firearm.

Very nicely done. I see, you are even prepared to add a suppressor or a launcher to the front should you choose.
I've stayed away from projects like this due to a lack of welding skills, and a general ignorance of what is and is not legal, without filing for a tax stamp.
If the opportunity arises, I'd like to see a thread / tutorial on the subject.
